St Paddys Day 5K- Chicago Race Review

Another Fun 5K while Chicago is still thawing out.  St Paddy's Day 5/8K

Race Review:  Medium sized race starting at the Peggy Notebart Museum.  We were lucky enough to score the closest parking in the LPZoo lot.  (I define lucky as we paid $20 to be lucky).  Packet pickup was really easy and we ended up staying in the car before we started.  About 10 minutes before the gun, we went and stood in line.

Race went along the lake path.  Wasn't that crowded... although lots of puddles!  The course ran north and turned around near belmont-ish.  The 8K's went off before the  5K's which helped spread out the course as well.  The course is pretty straight forward if you have run on the lakepath before.  Out and around loop.  Fo rhte 5K there was one aid station which you hit from both directions. Helped my friend Lisa who is just getting into running and it was great to keep her company.

Finish line had green bagels, bananas and water.   Because it was so cold, we raced back to the car!
Although quick, it was smooth race and love doing fun races with friends!

The race was pretty low key in my opinion.  Not a lot of hooplah.  I think b/c it was so cold, that didn't help their cause at all.   However, smooth run race and would do it again.. hopefully with some warmer weather!

Shirt:  unisex heathered grey short sleeve shirt with the logo on the website.  Really soft tee but I am not a huge fan of heathered grey... does that color really do anyone any favors?  It will be a great sleep shirt though.
