If you read my blog, you know I love to mix fun runs in with my bigger races. I love fun runs b/c I can get Josh involved and it makes running fun for him. See my post on Getting your Kid to Run with You. And we have been very lucky that he loves to participate with us..... So, when i found out about Hit and Run 5K, I had to get in on the action. Race is July 5, 2014 at Toyota Park. The race has some obstacle courses that are very similar to what you see on TV competition programs. Here are some of the obstacles that await you!
Duck or Dive™
Choose from 6 balance beams to cross over the pools. Try to avoid the giant, spinning balls, and you might make it across without swimming.
You will have to move quickly to get over the wiggling, wobbling posts in the pole walk.
Try to outsmart the whacking wall, but be on the lookout for flying, wet distractions!
You will have to try to stay on top of the skinny bridge, and go around or under the stalactites. But beware, you cross directly in front of four dodge ball canons.
You get to start the course with a teeter-totter balance beam to help you warm up to the obstacle course. Keep your head up and watch for surprises!
Waves start at 9 am and kids 10 and older are welcome to participate in the parent/child wave at 11 am. Any water obstacles are no deeper than 3 feet and up to 3 kids can travel with one adult.
***I received free entries for my family in exchange for promoting the event. Although this post is sponsored, all opinions are my own.
